Abstract
Süleyman Senih Efendi on 110th Anniversary of His Death
In this paper, it is dealt with the life and poems of Süleyman Senih Efendi who was
one of the prominent poets of Ottoman (Diwan) Poetry in 19th century, and affiliated
to the tariqa of Mawlawiyya. Benefiting from some sheikhs like Ahmed Jununi
Dede who was the sheikh of Bursa Mawlawi Tekke and also one of the well-known
Mawlawi sheikhs in that period, and Isma‘il Rusukhi al-Anqarawi who was the sheikh
of Galata Mawlawi Tekke, Senih Efendi passed away in his villa in Göztepe in July
29, 1900, and buried in the cemetery of Üsküdar Selimiye Dargah.
